Gender equality in the workplace
Gender equality in the workplace
Duration: 55 Minutes
Overview: This course is about achieving gender equality in the workplace. It defines concepts of gender and gender equality and looks at why gender inequality continues to exist in many organisations despite decades of legislation and cultural change.
It identifies the barriers to improving gender equality and how a lack of gender equality impacts both individuals and organisations.
Finally, we look at a range of initiatives which both individuals and organisations can undertake to improve gender equality, culture and diversity in the workplace.
Why is this course important? Achieving gender equality in the workplace is more than just a legislative requirement – it is fair for everyone, a right for all women and a responsibility for organisations. Achieving gender equality cannot occur simply through legislation. The behaviours, mindsets and socialisation that occur every day at work have significant power over individuals. Change is required at both an organisational and individual level.
