Overview: This course provides an overview about privacy in the workplace, including what is personal information and why it requires protection. We also examine what sensitive information is and how that compares to personal information. We examine how personal information is protected in Australia and how organisations can use personal information. Finally, you will learn what you can do to help protect your own - and other people's - personal information.

Why is this course important? As more personal information is collected now more than ever and there are strict requirements in dealing with personal information for organisations and their employees. A failure to understand and protect personal information can result in financial, personal and reputational risk, as well as legal proceedings resulting in civil penalties.
