Whistleblowing awareness for employees
Whistleblowing awareness for employees
Duration: 40 minutes
Overview: This course examines the act of exposing misconduct or an improper state of affairs within an organisation - a process called 'whistleblowing'.
- In this topic, we examine the definition of whistleblowing, and the criteria required to qualify as an eligible person and receive whistleblower protections under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) (Whistleblower Protection Laws).
- We also examine how to make a whistleblowing disclosure, and the protections received for whistleblowers. Finally, we review whistleblower policies and the processes of investigations.
Why is this course important? Organisations which receive and investigate whistleblower reports show a significant decline in misconduct incidents. However, often employees are reluctant to report misconduct as they fear adverse action may be taken against them for speaking up. This topic outlines the protections in place for whistleblowers and helps people to make whistleblowing disclosures in an appropriate way.
Suitable for: All employees.
