Overview: This course is about understanding equal employment opportunity (EEO) and discrimination for managers. You will learn what EEO means and review the legislation that applies to EEO. You will examine the behaviour that is considered unlawful discrimination including defences and exceptions. You will also review how internal and external complaints are managed.

Why is this course important? The impact of EEO complaints and grievances is significant and affects a wide range of parties. It is important that everyone in an organisation is aware of their responsibilities in regard to EEO, as there may be repercussions of not adhering to policies or processes.  If an employer becomes aware that harassment, discrimination or bullying are occurring in the workplace, the employer needs to take the appropriate steps to stop that behaviour occurring.
