Overview: This course has been developed to provide an overview of fraud and corruption, including what they are, how they may be prevented, and how they may be reported. 

We examine current definitions and examples of actions that can be described as fraud and corruption. We also look at strategies for preventing fraud and corruption, ways of promoting an ethical culture, the importance of reporting, and protected disclosures.

Why is this course important? Fraud and corruption can have a profound impact on an organisation. Both can affect the company itself, as well as the individuals involved in the company, and can result in legal proceedings resulting in criminal prosecution or civil penalties, exclusion from government contracts, a drain on management resources, reduced morale, and reduced performance. They can cause not only financial loss, but also reputational loss. 

Suitable for: All employees and workers. However, this course is general in nature and does not cover any specific areas where fraud and corruption may arise in your particular workplace. Laws relating to fraud and corruption differ between each state and territory. For accuracy, please ensure you consult the laws enacted in your respective jurisdiction.
