Overview: This course is about the appropriate uses of social and digital media in the workplace, and how to avoid breaching workplace standards and safety legislation. We examine the different types of social media and their benefits, as well as how they can be linked to your workplace. 

We also look at the legislation and workplace policies that can apply to your behaviour when you use them, along with the risks associated with using them inappropriately. 

Finally, we examine some of the ways you can make sure you use social media safely and responsibly.

Why is this course important? How social media is used in the workplace, and the ways in which it is used by employees outside the workplace, is rapidly changing. 

While social media was once managed by specialised individuals at a workplace, many employees now use social media in numerous and unfamiliar ways at work. At the same time, customers, recruitment agencies and regulatory bodies are increasingly using social media in their own decisions about your organisations - and you.
