Overview: This course explores how safety leadership behaviours shape workplace safety culture, covering what safety leadership means, the core principles and practical strategies that build a positive safety culture, how to encourage genuine worker participation, and how to measure and continuously improve your own safety leadership performance.

Why is this course important? Completing this course will help you recognise the direct link between your everyday actions and the safety culture your team develops. It will also give you practical strategies for strengthening that culture, encouraging genuine participation, and meeting your legal obligations as a leader under Australian work health and safety law.

Suitable for: Managers, supervisors and team leaders at all levels who have existing workplace health and safety responsibilities and some prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role. It’s designed as a refresher on key concepts and safe practices for those who’ve already received formal training, induction, or on-the-job instruction in this area. It doesn’t replace that training.
