Overview: This course has been developed to provide an understanding of health and safety responsibilities, how risk is managed using the risk management process, and what you should expect to find in the workplace to help you work safely. We will explore common workplace hazards and how you can reduce the risks associated with those hazards.

This course is based on laws in Victoria, Australia, the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (VIC) (OHS Act) and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 (VIC) (OHS Regulations).

Why is this course important? Poor health and safety procedures can lead to personal harm and injury, but also because you, your manager or supervisor and your employers have a duty of care to ensure a safe working environment. Hazards and risks to health and safety can occur for all workers and employees in all workplaces.

Suitable for: All employees covered by the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (VIC) (OHS Act) and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations 2017 (VIC) (OHS Regulations).

For employees in states other than Victoria, the course Workplace health and safety fundamentals (AU Model Laws) will apply.
